Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 25, 2026

Luna stores all data on your device only. No data is ever transmitted to any server. Luna has no servers. Your health information belongs to you.

1. What data Luna collects

Luna stores the following data locally on your device: your period start and end dates, cycle length, flow intensity, symptoms, mood, and any personal notes you choose to add. This data is stored in a local database on your phone and nowhere else.

2. Where your data goes

Nowhere. Luna has no servers, no cloud storage, and no backend infrastructure of any kind. Your data cannot be transmitted because there is no destination to transmit it to.

3. Analytics and tracking

Luna uses no analytics tools, no crash reporters, no session recording, and no advertising identifiers beyond what AdMob requires (see section 4). We have no idea how many people use Luna, which features they use, or where they are located.

4. Advertising

Luna's free version displays a single banner advertisement on the Insights screen, served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID) to show relevant ads. You can opt out of personalised ads in your Android device settings under Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID.

Luna Premium ($1.49 one-time) removes all advertisements permanently.

5. App permissions

Luna requests the following permissions:

POST_NOTIFICATIONS — to send period and fertile window reminders. You can disable these in Android settings at any time.
USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT — only if you enable the optional app lock feature. Luna never accesses biometric data directly; this is handled entirely by Android.
INTERNET — required only for the AdMob SDK to load ads. Luna's own code makes zero network requests.
SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM — to deliver period reminders at the correct time, not just approximately.

6. Data backup

If you choose to export a backup, it is saved as an encrypted file (.lbk) to your device storage. Luna does not upload your backup anywhere. The backup file is encrypted with AES-256 and can only be read by Luna on your device.

7. Children's privacy

Luna is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. As Luna collects no data at all, this is effectively a non-issue — but we state it for compliance.

8. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. We will note changes in the Play Store release notes.
